A Weekend in the Hill Country
This past year our empty nests filled right back up once the pandemic hit. We have had an incredible time getting to spend time with the full family again. However this past weekend Marc and I got away for some much needed one on one time and it was so fun!
We stayed at our lake house in Marble Falls and spent each day seeking out a new adventure amidst the Texas Hill Country. Find out a little about our adventures and where we went below.
After adventuring in the sky we relaxed at a couple wineries that looked out over the Hill Country. It was great to get to taste some local wines. Fall Creek Vineyards is actually the oldest winery in the Hill Country and one of the oldest in Texas. They even have had their wines served at the white house. For lunch we headed to The Grand Central Cafe, the very location where Texas Chainsaw Massacre was filmed.
We started off with an early morning flight above LBJ, our first time ever paragliding! The views were incredible and it was great opportunity to try something new. It reminded me of my days flying planes in New Mexico. Be sure to check out Fly Texas if you are ever looking for a good thrill.
To end the weekend we went on one final adventure to Lake Buchanan, exploring waterfalls and watching for eagles with the Vanishing Texas River Cruise. The cruise is the only way to see the incredible waterfall hidden amongst the landscape of Lake Buchanan. This cruise is also one of the easiest ways to see Eagles in Texas.
Overall it was a jam packed weekend full of adventure. If you are looking for a mini getaway we recommend any of these incredible adventures and venues. Let us know how you like them in the comments!
